Why using a Spectral Measurement Device
The use of accurate color measurement devices is very important to check the colors of your proof and print. Today, densitometers are often used in the pressroom. But with these instruments it is not possible to measure true spectral color in CIE-Lab, which is needed for today's process and quality control. Spectral devices measure the true visual appearance of a color and provide you information about the exact color quality of your printed matter. When you need to run according to ISO 12647, spectral measurement is mandatory.
To measure color information more accurately and to meet the above requirements, we advise you to work with a good quality and well known spectral measurement device. The X-Rite Eye One device is a well known product in the graphics industry, but it may not be really suited for use in a print room. That is why PressView also supports some robust spectrophotometers from Techkon. Techkon manufactures various high end spectralphotometers to measure any colorbar or individual color. These devices can be used inside or outside the pressroom. Quality managers will like the versatility of the handheld SpectroDens spectrometer, while press operators can read their colorbars automatically with the RS800 or the new SpectroDrive scanning devices.
