Compare versions

PressView is available in four versions: ‘Start’, ‘Basic’, ‘Pro’ and ‘Pro Packaging’. Each version is optimized to fulfill tasks for specific situations. Below, you will learn the basic differences between the versions and their intended users.

PressView Start

PressView Start is a light weight but already powerful solution for when you want to start checking on color quality. You can measure and check color bars in CMYK and see how you are performing. Color gamut, dot gain, proof certification and job based trends are available at your fingertips.

The interface can be optimized for operators of digital printing machines (toner/ink jet) who need to check color quality and machine stability in daily production. While PressView measures and analyzes all spectral data, the user information about print quality is presented in a very easy to understand manner: a traffic light. Operators can quickly see whether they can continue production, need to re-calibrate their machine or need to contact a color specialist to take a closer look at the production system. Of course, all advanced views like color gamut and dot gain are available so the QA manager can have a more detailed view.

PressView Start works with the X-Rite EyeOne measurement device.

PressView Basic

PressView’s Basic version is suited to perform most quality assurance tasks and helps you implement and maintain industry standards like ISO 12647, GRACoL or any other (in-house) standard. Print quality analysis and creating CTP curves are the tools that are used most.

It has basic support for spot colors, job based trends and statistics. If you are not focused on packaging or ink zone specific color information, this is probably the version for you.

PressView Basic works with the X-Rite EyeOne, 500-series, SpectroEye and Techkon’s SpectroDens Advanced (or premium) and SpectroJet measurement devices.

PressView Pro

PressView Pro is more focused on process control. With PressView Pro you get everything from the Basic version plus additional support for ink zone based measurements and export to third party closed loop systems to drive your machine directly. We currently support closed loop solutions from Rutherford, Digital Information and Printflow. PressView Pro has extended support for spot colors. Additionally, you can import measurement data directly from press consoles like Komori PDC/SII (SVF) and Heidelberg ImageControl (CGATS). PressView Pro also is also capable of performing printability and dry back tests so you know how a particular ink will behave, before production starts. So if you are the press operator and you need to view ink zone specific information without needing more than 4 spot colors, PressView Pro is your version.

PressView Pro works with the X-Rite EyeOne, 500-series, SpectroEye, Intellitrax S and Techkon’s SpectroDens Advanced (or premium) and SpectroJet and SpectroDrive measurement devices.

PressView Pro Packaging

PressView Pro Packaging version is targeted towards the packaging market. All features of the software are available and unlimited. Besides all the features from Basic and Pro versions, you get additional tools for flexo printing and capabilities to measure and maintain color quality without the need of a color bar. Use PressView Pack to grab any information about production performance, analyze your custom inks via the printability test module or generate extended trends and statistics for the brand owner. If you are into packaging, this is probably your version.

PressView Pro Packaging works with the X-Rite EyeOne, 500-series, SpectroEye, Intellitrax S and Techkon’s SpectroDens Advanced (or premium) and SpectroJet and SpectroDrive measurement devices.
